[Maeil Safety Newspaper] Enclear launches non-conductive reinforced liquid AC fire extinguisher adaptable to electric vehicle and lithium-ion battery fires

ENCLEA officially launched the ENCLEA fire extinguisher on August 31, 2023.

Enclear received Type A and C class fire extinguisher type approval (Hydrogen 23-13) for reinforced liquid (water-based, liquid type) from KFI (Korea Fire Industry & Technology Institute) based on non-conductive water-based chemicals developed over a period of about 3 years. He explained that the ENCLEA fire extinguisher was officially released after passing the final inspection and receiving the national certification.

According to the company, the recently released Enclear fire extinguisher was developed as a solution to prevent lithium-ion battery fires and effectively extinguish expensive electric and tank equipment fires.

There is no risk of electric shock, it is made non-conductive to minimize damage to electrical and electronic equipment, and to minimize human and material damage, and has a cooling function superior to that of water.

In particular, it has the property of not freezing up to minus 20 degrees Celsius, has anti-corrosion properties to minimize damage to joints and metal devices, and has a surface tension superior to that of water.

An Enclear official said, “Lithium-ion battery (hereinafter referred to as battery) fires are not just a problem for electric vehicles,” adding, “The use and handling of batteries is increasing in various places such as electric bicycles, electric scooters, and electric carts at golf courses, so if a fire occurs, it can cause a significant number of human casualties and casualties. “Material damage is expected,” he said.

He continued, “It will be a groundbreaking alternative as there is almost no human or material damage in crowded areas such as theaters and subways, hospitals, industrial facilities, data centers, communication facilities, and power generation facilities that use expensive equipment.” “With the completion of patents in the U.S. and China, we will establish ourselves as a unicorn item not only in the domestic firefighting market but also in the global firefighting market,” he added.

Meanwhile, Enclear was recognized for the excellence of its products by exhibiting at the International Fire Safety Expo held at Daegu EXCO from the 30th of last month to September 1st.
